We're coming home for the Holidays!!!....sorta

Brett and I could not agree on which "home" to visit for our "holiday" vacation between N. Dakota and Chicago so our compromise is to drive the 24 hours back to the midwest and visit both!!! We'll leave here the 13th of Dec and drive to Fargo to visit the Stephenson family and friends...BURRRR it'll be cold! I'm not sure if me and my growing belly will even fit into my "winter" coat ...AZ winters rarely go below 40...and that's the middle of the night. After 3 days in Fargo we'll make the trek to Chicago to visit my side of family and friends.....BURRRRR it'll still be cold! Regardless of the bitter cold Brett and I are very excited to make the trip to see our family, unfortunately we have to be back to AZ by Xmas Eve so Brett can work. Bonus to making the road trip rather then fly is Deuce our pup will make the trip with us!!!!! Like all Dogs he loves car rides!!! Especially when he gets to sit shot gun. Pretty sure that we won't be letting him do that otherwise it'll be a long 24 hour drive!!!! We also plan on purchasing a wool sweater for him to take along. :-) He's kind of a wussy when it comes to it being cold. We've had the windows open at night lately since it's finally cooled off and we find him tucked away under the sheets with us in the morning.....
It'll be interesting!!!! What I am most excited for...fulfilling all my prego cravings for food from places found only in the chicago mom's home cooking and Portillos Chicago Style Hot Dog w/ Cheese Fries and Sarki's Bacon Loretta and Apple Pancake from Walker Bros pancake house and Depth Charge Sub with Butter Garlic Fries from Sub-T and Soup from China Town and Tango Sur- Beef Vesuvio and Matusuya's Combination C dinner!!!!! Yummy! I only have 3 days in Chicago....what's a pregnant girl to do?!

We're "Almost Certain" it's a GIRL!

We had our very first ultrasound yesterday and we definately have so much to give thanks for today! So far everything looks good and healthy with our Baby Girl! We are only 13 weeks, but Ultrasounds are getting so advanced now that many people are finding out early. Isn't that CRAZY? So Our Ultrasound tech, Kelsey, gave us a 75% certainty at first that it was a girl and then as she finished up she told us she was ALMOST completely certain that it was indeed a girl, which she never tells parents that, but she would be surprised to find out if it were a boy. Brett and I could not contain our joy...there were a few suttle tears, Brett claims his contacts we're bothering him! Oh....this lil girl is going to have him wrapped around her finger!!!! It's gonna be trouble with a Daddy's lil princess. The Ultrasound was sooo amazing. It was the best hour of my life so far! I can't believe that lil baby is growing inside me! We weren't expecting to get such an awesome view of her, but we did. We saw facial stuctures, organs, and all her extremities with all 10 toes and 10 fingers! She was dancing around and waving hi to us. The Tech even commented on how she was doing cheerleader moves and flips in the pictures. Brett and I both laughed and said that was indeed my daughter! She is measuring about 7.4 cm from Head to Butt which is about 3 inches, then add length too for her legs about 1 inch. We also laughed when the tech mentioned that she looks like she had long legs....where would that come from?! She is actually big for my how far along I am, so they think I'm actually a week further along then anticipated. I think Baby Girl will come when she wants! So that is our most exciting news for the day! Proud and very thankful parents Brett and I are! Sending our Thanksgiving greetings to all our friends and family! We hope that everyone has a wonderful day of football and good eats! Our plan is to do dinner with our friends Joo and James who are also expecting their first girl in Feb or March. Brett does the turkey and I do the fixin's! It's turned into our own tradition for whatever year we don't manage to make it out of town to visit family. I'm excited to use alot of the stuff we got for our wedding! HAVE A WONDERFUL TURKEY DAY TO ALL! Baby Wants to say "Hi" Also!

Where not to order Pizza!

The other night Brett and I ordered a Pizza from R&R Pizza. One of the 3 or 4 pizza places located here in Queen Creek. Keep in mind that I am normally a fan of the "ma and pa" type of business and tend to stray away from franchises like Pizza Hut if at all possbile. So we ordered at 6:15. The pizza was promised in 45 minutes. Keep in mind also that it was a weds night and the pizza joint is located no more then 1/4 mile down the road. At 7 pm still no pizza and being the patient and normally very understanding people that Brett and I are we chose to give them a lil bit longer. Called once at about 7:30 to check on the pizza. We were told driver would be on the way and here in no more then 15 minutes the "lovely" (that's my attempt to be sarcastic with paranthesis) manager had offered us a 10-15% discount on our NEXT order. Called once again at 8 pm when the pizza still hadn't arrived and was told the same thing. Finally at 8:15 we still had no pizza, called to talk to the Store Manager again, in which he had no time to talk to us and gave us his GM's phone number. Fed up, pregnant and hungary I got in the car to go to the store to purchase a tombstone supreme pizza and Brett stayed home to finally greet the pizza guy at about 8:25pm to then tell him that we no longer wanted the pizza and that we got another one. I'm sure he was pleased, but at that point who wants a cold pizza?! I mean come on, 2 hours to cook and deliver a pizza?! It wasn't even a deep dish, it was a thin crust! And may I please stress that the pizza place is a 10-15 minute WALK from our house. Had the pizza place been at all honest about the delivery time I would have picked up the stickin' pizza myself. Afterall I drove by the pizza place on my way to the store to pick up the tombstone frozen pizza we ended up devouring and loving later that night! On top of that, their only compensation is 10-15% off our Next order?! Come on ...seriously?! I'm pretty sure from now on Brett and I will learn to enjoy franchise Pizza from PIzza Hut or stock up on tombstones! So that's my rant and rave for the day and a fair warning to my Queen Creek Neighbors.

Dying to say......I'm Gonna be a Mommy!

I'm making it official and going public on this blog to say that Brett and I are Pregnant! Actually, few people even read or know about this blog so that's why I am okay saying it, plus that and Brett and I plan on really announcing it to all others next week after thanksgiving. So if you happen to be on Anjee's Blog and clicked on my blog link to check it out this may be the first you have heard about Brett and I pregnant. Superstitious me was always wanting to err on the cautious side and keep it hush hush through our first trimester, but as the days went by and the excitement grew we just could not contain ourselves. We started telling more and more people, not everyone, but some. Today I will be officially 12 weeks, and happy to say had very minor and tolerable 1st trimester sypmtoms. We found out back in Sept, a few days before Brett's 30th bday. It was the best gift I could have given my husband for his 30th, but fortunately for him, I had already planned a trip to Boston for his 30th. He got quite the presents! Here's the picture of my "just found out I'm pregnant belly"

Not to lie, but we were "trying" and "hoping." I knew I'd be due to test and the morning that I did end up testing I had woken up from a dream that I'd taken a pregnancy test. So at 430 in the morning I got up peed on the stick for the upth-teen time and sure enough that time I got the plus sign! I was good and contained myself from telling Brett until he woke up from his alarm at 5am. He started the morning completely annoyed that I wouldn't let him snooze through the alarm, but after my news he didn't care to snooze. We told a handful a family and friends and with each new week found the urge to share our news with one new person. I think my mom is having the hardest time containing herself. The last few weeks and days my mom makes sure to ask if she can now start telling people, even though she knows the answer. So we go public blog style first (especially now since this pregnancy is having me sleep the most odd hours with 5 hour naps during the day and I am up at the wee hours of night with lil to do but surf the net and update this blog) and then by next week we'll send our "announcements" and share our great news! On the 31st we had our 2nd doctor appt, where all he did was check for the heartbeat and that was the most exciting thing to report thus far. A bit more confirmation other then the 7 dollar sticks to pee on that we were indeed pregnant. Next weds we have our first ultrasound! I'm very excited to share with my fellow bloggers, which most of you know already, but regardless I'm getting sick of posting other things then what I am most excited about! Here's my growing belly!!!!!

That's my 11 week belly! Can you believe that? The baby is only about 4 cms long and that's the belly I have?! There better be a twin hiding in there! Most everyone I see on the daily basis already knows and as you can see it's gonna be harder and harder to hide my news. I'm wearing a maternity skirt in the picture! Well, this news will definately change the flow of our blog now and I'm even more excited to update as this pregnancy progresses!

I'm an Auntie...

I know this sounds crazy, but I have to say it, but yes it just dawned on me that I am an Aunt! It was official back on Brett and I's wedding, and of course there is always the self proclaimed Auntie Role that I have with Will .... but nonetheless I am officially an Aunt and it only dawned on me when I was shipping a gift to Marcus (Brett's Nephew and now Mine) for his 2nd birthday. I had write on the Gift Message and I first wrote "Love Uncle Brett and Mae" and then realized I need to be putting Auntie in front of that....So here are the official pictures of my Nephews.....Jamey and Rhonda's Kids.

Anytime Andro and Rachelle want to add to my Nephew and/or Niece collection please feel free! Anyway.....that's my comment for the day!

My Birthday!

Take a look at the time. Now some may wonder what I am doing up this late/early....the joys of night shift! I probably should get to bed so I don't sleep my whole birthday away, but I'm sure Brett won't mind since it gives him more time to watch Football if I'm sleeping. Anyway, so much going on since I haven't posted in quite some time. Enjoying married life....I'm still working in the NICU, getting harder everyday especially since we're talking about having our own family and kids. My hope is it will only make me stronger. Brett's plugging away at Chase as a personal banker. He works not even 1/2 a mile from work so it's completely convienent and a blessing to have him close to home. Beats my 34 mile commute to the hospital. Deuce and I also enjoy our walks to the Bank to meet Brett when he gets off of work. Just in time for him to drive Deuce and I back home! Deuce is still spoiled rotten. One could only wonder what we are going to be like with a
"real child" He's a complete joy, but he acts like the king of the house. Our trainer at his PetSmart classes would only be soooo proud! I got my Birthday present already from Brett.
It's a beautiful jewelry armoire to store all the years of jewelry presents that I have already received from Brett. I love it! As of now we have not plans for the day but for Brett to take me to breakfast......Yummy! Happy Birthday also to my AZ mom.....Ms. Vicki! Hope you have a wonderful day! Anyway, I'l be sure to keep you all posted more often (happy Anjee?).....hopefully with more exciting things to share, once I figure out more tricks to this blogging thing!
