Brooklyn had her 2 month check up and she's up to 11# 6.5 oz. She's 22.5 inches long. She's on the smaller end of things, but that's to no suprise to us. She's got rolls and folds like a mini sumo wrestler that there's no doubt she's eating well.
We did however hit another lil nursing bump a few days ago, but we have since gotten over that. She decided for about a good 24 hours that she wasn't going to breast feed and went on strike.

In fear of malnourishing my baby's cheeks I caved and gave her bottles. I have never personally had to feed her with a bottle. She's gotten bottles from Daddy and even Grandma, while she was being cared for while at my Brothers wedding. I was trying to avoid using bottles til absolutely necessary. In a few weeks when I go back to work (SIGH!) I know she'll be getting bottles, but when she is with me I hope to continue breastfeeding. I enjoy our breastfeeding time....it's Mommy and Brooklyn time. It was tough to think that I might have to give up breastfeeding and our Pediatrician said she was probably weening. I was pretty emotional about it and wasn't really willing to settle for that so I went yet again to visit with the lactation nurses at the hospital. They were great! They helped me get back on track with feeding her and really encouraged me to keep up with it. We've been doing great ever since. She's eating well and is truly one happy baby! She smiles all the time at us...likes to have chit chats with us and almost always likes to make silly faces!

I just love her soo much! I have to keep counting my blessings everyday that she's just so wonderful and healthy. She sleeps well thru the night and we're going to try her in her crib in her nursery here soon. I think mommy might have a harder time with it then she will.

Yesterday we had another Playdate at Anjee's house. The older kids played with Will's toys and even each other. They're getting good at sharing. Then the lil babies got passed around and held by the mommies. There was a good turn out and it was fun being able to swap stories and advice from all the mommies...even Grandma Vicki!

Can't wait til the next one.

Fun-Day, Sunday!

Brett had an early start on the day and played a round of golf with the boys at 545 this morning. Brooklyn and I chose to sleep in til about the time he got home. After we got up we cleaned house and finally put shelves up in the empty media niche above the new credenza our parents bought us for our anniversary. Here's the completed look....

Here's Brooklyn entertaining herself while I helped Daddy with the shelves.

She can hold her head up better these days and she's still short enough (I bet this is going to be an ongoing issue with her) that when she sits in the bumbo her head gets support on the back side.

And when we aren't looking Deuce likes to sneak a kiss in...

Tonight Brett and I took the family out for a walk after it cooled down a bit. We got back home only to realize that we had locked ourselves out. Our great friends Tod and Casey came to the rescue! They have our spare key from last week when they had taken care of Deuce...thank goodness! So Tod swung by to let us in....ironically enough this happened after our other friends Cindy and Justin came by this afternoon for a visit and gave us back the other spare key we had given them a while back to check on the house while we were on vacation. Cindy and Justin have 4 handsome lil boys that Brooklyn took a liking to. Brooklyn had her first kiss from Aiden today. That will be her first and only for many years....many decades if Daddy has any say in that. I saw Daddy's teeth clinch when Aiden went in for the kiss...

Brooklyn had otherwise been doing very well. She's much more social and playful. I'm trying to get her and this household on some sort of schedule before I go back to work but it's a struggle since I'm still nursing her on demand. She does do well at night and only wakes up once thru the night to eat. Our lil sweetheart is definately a binkie type of girl. At least there is always something that will soothe and calm her. The problem she has is that she can't quite seem to keep it in her mouth the best yet so I glued her puppy friend...not Deuce... to her binkie to help her out.

Daddy has been learning how to do baths on his own. Thanks to Miss Ellie for loaning us her baby tub it's much more easier. The old tub we had sucked and it took 2 people to bathe her. One to actually do the scrub down and the other to support and hold her so she doesn't totally submerge in the water. Here's Daddy doing his first solo bath! Of course i had to snap some pics....

Brooklyn says "Job well done daddy!"

Alright, Brooklyn's needing to eat now...have a good one everyone!!!!

Home Sweet Home

The only thing sweet really about being home was seeing Deuce~ We had such a wonderful vacation and now I am suffering from post vacation blues! We got to see both our families and it was such a great time both in Fargo, ND and in Bayfield,WI.
We even had a great time doing the drive inbetween the two cities because we got to spend it with Mikaela!

Part 1 of our vacation...FARGO!

Brooklyn traveled well. We weren't the family with the screaming child that everyone dreads to sit next to on the plane! She pretty much slept the whole time....

Here she is on her first airplane ride!

We totted her around the airport in a Baby Bjorn....Thanks Miss Amaya! Brooklyn loved it!

Just for you Melonie...I snuck a picture of Brett even getting good use from it...

What a good Multi-tasker my hubbie is!

We started our vacation in Fargo.... Brooklyn finally got to meet her Stephenson side of the family! She just loved her cousins!

Michael was soo good to share his Moose and Monkey with Brooklyn, which she took a great liking too....

Auntie Rhonda and Auntie Mikaela were so sweet to throw a Baby Shower for Brooklyn.

It was a diaper shower and Brooklyn was blessed to have such wonderful presents from everyone. Her toosh thanks everyone!!!!
Here's everyone from the shower.....

Brooklyn got to meet so many people and I even got to see some people that I have never met before. It was sooo nice to finally put faces to the names! We had a wonderful time....thanks again to Rhonda and Mikaela and to everyone that came.

No trip to Fargo is ever complete without Video Games...

and now Chuck E Cheese!

Here's Brooklyn talking with Grandpa Mike about getting big enough so she can play Skee Ball too....

We even got to take in a baseball game while we were there...Here's Michael scoring a run....

He's gonna make millions one day playing ball! Make Uncle Brett proud!!!

We also got to head out to the lake to see Brooklyn's Great Uncle Jan and Great Aunt Linda...

Part 2- Bayfield

After spending time in Fargo we headed straight east to a small lil town in Wisconsin called Bayfield for my Brother's Wedding. Bayfield is such a beautiful town nestled along side Lake Superior.

We spent a few days there visiting with family and enjoying the town. Everywhere we walked and went we saw someone we knew that was there for the wedding. Of course we couldn't miss the red scooter and big helmet (Andro) driving thru the streets....

Here's Uncle Andro holding Brooklyn for the 1st time...I think it might even be the 1st time for him to even hold a baby...

Then Brooklyn started squirming so here's the hand-off too Auntie Rachelle. AKA Auntie Rey-Rey

Okay, all better now!

On Saturday, July 19th Andro and Rachelle tied the knot! They had a beautiful ceremony and a great reception. Everything was wonderful and despite a couple raindrops it was just perfect! Rachelle, I must say I am very impressed that you kept very cool and collected that afternoon! You called the shots an stayed ultra calm throughout it all!

And by far my favorite picture from our trip...
How Many Grandma's does it take to change Brooklyn's Diaper?

Apparently 3! And no worries, the picture was taken after the dinner so we weren't contaminating anyone's dining spot!

Congrats again to Andro and Rachelle!

What a beautiful wedding for such a beautiful couple!!!!!
