Favorite

Alexis' new favorite toy is the fish tank.....

She's apparently mesmerized by the toy fish swimming at the bottom.

Brooklyn's favorite new playmate...

Now that Alexis is getting bigger Brooklyn is really starting to enjoy interacting with her which also serves as my favorite moments in the house....

Earning our Wings

The biggest obstacle I thought I would have during our recent vacation to Chicago would be having to fly there with both girls by myself. I was worked up and anxious for weeks just thinking about how I would even manage. I am very pleased to report that the girls and I survived the trip.

Alexis managed to not be the crying baby on the plane (no mishaps requring outfits or diaper changes also...pheww!) Brooklyn behaved, not a tear or tantrum of any sort, and listened to Mommy (with the help of snacks, candy and new toys that were dispersed slowly throughout the flight) and Mommy managed to not have a panic or anxiety attack! I was even complimented at the end of our flight about how well the girls did. My favorite moment of the whole plane trip was right as we pulled up to the gate and I was gathering our bags to de-board I looked over to find this....

Go figure she waits til we're about to get off the plane to actually take a nap! Thankfully she woke up easily and I didn't have to try and carry both girls as well as our belongings off the plane!

6 Months

Last Friday our little munchkin turned 6 months. She's at that perfect stage where she's really starting to interact and be very aware of her surroundings. She really reacts to any attention she gets by giving us HUGE smiles and flailing her legs and arms around with excitement. She likes to play with toys now, specifically ANYthing that she can wrap her tiny little hands around and get in her mouth. I love seeing her eyes get big with wonderment when Brooklyn plays with her toys by her and then she'll reach out to try and get a piece of whatever toy Brooklyn's playing with. Alexis sits up very well and is working on being very mobile, but thankfully doesn't get too far. I finally started her on Rice cereal a few weeks ago and when we got back to AZ from our recent trip to Chicago I made her baby food and started her on her Veggies. So far she's had Squash, Green Beans and Carrots. She's getting better with her sleep schedule and naps. Not the greatest napper, but a little is better then none right? We still can't believe our baby is 6 months old already....ughh if my efforts to convince Brett for just one more would work seeing Alexis grow big and old wouldn't be soooo bad!

Issac's Baptism

The main reason for our recent trip to Chicago was to meet and love on our new nephew, Isaac. We planned the trip so we can also be there for his Baptism.

Here are the proud parents and god-parents (I get the guilt trip ALL the time from Memaw about my girls not being baptized yet...but that's a whole other Blog entry)

The girls got to meet their new cousin Isaac and Memaw and Pepaw were able to have all 3 of their Grandkiddos together..

The girls traveled SOOOO well and just had an absolute blast!
Playing with each other

Uncle Ro Ro teaching the girls how to play the piano...

Brooklyn playing with her new fun and much more mature friend/cousin "tita ria"

Sneak Peak

We are back from our vacation to Chicago. Trying to UNSPOIL my kids and re-train them to the way life is really like. They've had lots of family to attend to their every need and spoil them rotten so we have some fixing to do here :). Since I have to work the next few nights I didn't want to let the blog go neglected any longer so I thought I'd send a snaek peak of our past vacation.....

I'll have lots more to share and pictures to include so stay tuned.....

Pre Historic Times....

We're living life as we did way back in the day (maybe 10 years ago!) without internet and computer access. (nevermind having blackberry's with internet...it's just not the same) So that's why the lack of blogging and pictures. Annoyed that this is the 2nd time in 2 months that we are having computer issues. Getting it fixed and thankfully we're okay not having it right now and Brett's not having to teach classes right now.

Here's our update. We had a WONDERFUL July 4th weekend. Visiting with friends and having great family time. I only had to work 1 night of the last 7. I got a girls night out to see Eclipse on Friday (LOVED IT!) and loved hanging out with great girlfriends.

Alexis started rice cereal the other night. I was trying to postpone until after our trip to Chicago to get started, but we've been having issues with her sleeping thru the night that I thought maybe this ought to help. I know she's going thru a growth spurt and with her new "talents" she's keeping herself up at night so we're looking to try anything that works. She loves her rice cereal and even more so, she loves that she gets food at dinner time now instead of having to just watch us eat. We're totally in love with her and love watching her grow and interact with us. She's always intrigued by what Brooklyn is doing and is quite entertained watching her play and has started to play along with her. She loves Deuce and will open her mouth up wide and stick her toungue out to get him to kiss her when he's nearby...yes, I know disgusting, but funny at the same time.

Brooklyn's just keeps on amazing us everyday. Singing her alphabet and started to pick up lyrics to songs we sing her. LOVES to color and loves Play-Doh. I invested in a Dust Buster last week...best investment in a while!!! Play-Doh is soo messy! Now if I can only get her to use it. I did teach her how to help me clean all the glass panels in out house that she gets her hand prints and finger prints all over. She likes to spray the windex while I do the wiping. Mommy's little helper!!! Training her well!

The girls and I are going to Chicago for a family visit next Friday. WAHOO!!! It'll just be the 3 of us and Brett will have to survive without us (He recently purchased a new XBOX game, so I think he'll be fine) I, on the other hand, have to survive the plane ride by myself with both girls....I won't even go there right now.

So that's where we've been....living a simple life without the crutch of our computer. I'll have to say it's been nice. More family time for all of us and no blog stalking for me. I just hope to get the computer back soon so I can pay some bills....I forgot how to actually write a check and send it in using snail mail.

Going Places....

We started on the blanket playing....

I walked away for one moment only to find this when I returned....

She's making her way around the place...exploring her home....

Big Girl

Here's Brooklyn, LOVING her Big Girl Bed....too my dismay she has character bed sheets that I don't really care for, but when a parent is desperate I get where things like this come in handy.

She loves her Tinkerbell bed with her Tinkerbell sheets (That's a battle I'll let her win!). Her room is completely outta sorts and I can't wait to get my hands on it and to redecorate. For now this will have to do...she's sleeping so well and we don't want to mess with a good thing!

Other battles that I'll let Brooklyn take is this one.....

She insists on wearing my socks (yes I did say mine- when you have small feet sometiems kids socks are the only things that work for me) and who can blame her when they've got one of her favorite Disney characters. This is how she starts her day....
