Cute Crawler....

Alexis Officially started moving and grooving this weekend. For the past few weeks she's been propping herself up on all fours and rocking back and forth as well as mastering the army crawl. But this weekend she's found the strength in her upper arms to get to where she wants....Life is soo much better being able to get to the t things she want on her own without having to wait and be carried there.

Weekend Visitor

PePaw Pike came in Friday night from Fargo. He played with the girls and hung out with us over the weekend. Soo MUCH fun. We went for Teppanyaki Saturday night ...where Brooklyn went from being thrilled to see the fire to showing her fear and being nothing but terrified and even ducking under the table.

Alexis however was entranced with the flames....

Brooklyn discovered a new game to play with Pepaw...."Ring around the rosies" and she would throw herself onto Pepaw's chest at the end of the song. She did that about 100 times. I thought I would have to take Pepaw to the ER for a crushing chest injury, but he was a good trooper....

Here are the girls with their pepaw....

We had a tough time getting Brooklyn to sit with Pepaw for a picture so Alexis and Pike have more pictures just the two of them.

We also welcomed a new family member this weekend....This one is simply not visiting, but has made more of a permanent home here. Meet Red....

We were proud because he was still swimming circles this morning and not the back stroke. Check out his new living quarters....it's still getting adjusted to proper temps so that's why Red hasn't moved into his princess quarters....I think we have a Gay Fish :) He moves into his new pad later tonight.

parting ways....

After nearly a month long process we've finally been able to wean Brooklyn from her binkie! I've been trimming the pacifier down to nothing over the past few weeks and then for at least the last week she's had nothing to suck on

She did well. This morning I finally detached the remaining binkie off of the puppy, made a big deal about how "cool" the puppy looked now, and now she's napping...without a fuss.

We're very happy here especially since it's been a sore subject here that's she's put up a fight about. (next sore subject: potty training!)

We've finally parted ways with her binkie and I'm finding new ways to part her hair.

She's getting good at letting me play with her hair...just have to have plenty to entertain her with.

Girls at Play

I'm in the middle of a week long Staycation. It's been going great so far! Getting the girls out and about the last few days. Tuesday night started at a BBQ at Famous Daves. The girls and I joined the Riecke Family and Tatham family for a nice dinner out and enjoyed a stormy ride home. Here are Ella and Alexis trying to be big girls at the table!

Alexis loving on Willy the Pig

Anjee and Lesley....

The following day I took the girls to the car dealership to have some stuff checked out and since it didn't take as long as anticipated we headed over to story time with Joo and Ellie. Brooklyn and Ellie had a blast. Brooklyn got right into it right off the bat, dancing and singing...

They were all about it!

The fun kept on at lunch. We took the girls and met Amaya and Becky at the playplace at McDonalds where the girls continued to love each other playing and running around. After lunch we had plans to see a puppet show play at Chandler Rec Center. Cinderella....

I have to laugh at this next picture cause typical Girly Girl Brooklyn, showing Miss amaya her newly manicured nails (I had to find comething to entertain her at the dealership waiting for my car to be serviced earlier that day...BRILLIANT huh?)

It was quite the day for the girls yesterday....and if you think that wasn't enough I took the girls this morning on another playdate with Amaya and Ellie. We went swimming this morning for a couple hours at teh Mitchell house. I'm always impressed by Amaya's swimming skills and Brooklyn tired to keep up with her older friends. She finally started to brave the waters (attached to waterwings) without latching on to me.

We've managed to keep up the fun while at home also. I dont want the girls to be bored at home so we've come up with some creative entertainment. I suggested to Brooklyn that we build a castle for her beloved puppy...

This was the final outcome...

and then Brooklyn decided she'd try to build a castle around her beloved sister.

Obsession Grows.....

We're still adding to the RIDICULOUS amout of puppies we have in our home...thankfully not all real.

Brooklyn is quite proud...

7 months

Monday Alexis turned 7 months. Very cliche to say, but Where has the time gone?!

Alexis is still desperatelt trying to crawly up on all fours, but still manages to scoot right along on her belly to where she wants to be. She's starting to be able to pull her self up to a sitting position from her belly....and she's quite proud of herself when she does. She still nurses about 5 to 6 times a day and is starting to enjoy more and more baby food. I've introduced carrots, peas, green beans, sweet potato, squash, bananas, and avocado. She loves them all, along with her rice cereal crackers which she gets for dessert. Still no teeth for Sheasus, but the drool is there. She's sleeping from 8 pm to about 730ish in the morning and takes 2 naps a day, which both vary in time. I still can't believe that it's already been 7 months!!!
